Since 2008, the breaker has been married to stage director Kate Whoriskey. They have two children.
Career
Breaker began his career in 2002, immediately after graduating from Juilliard, and in Off-Broadway, London, and regional theatre performances in the United States. He appeared in five plays at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., as Youth, protagonist of the Off-Broadway premiere of Passing Strange, for which he received an Obie Award in 2008. He was later nominated for a Tony Award for the show's Broadway transfer, in which he appeared in Spike Lee's filmed version of the musical.
On television, the Breaker has also appeared as a guest star.
Donkey was one of his first roles in Shrek The Musical's original Broadway revival, which ran from November 2008 to January 2010. Brian d'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, John Tartaglia, and Christopher Sieber appeared alongside him on Broadway. Breaker received a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his role.
