Daniel Breaker (born June 2, 1980) is an American actor, voice actor, and comedian best known for his role in Shrek The Musical's Donkey.

In Hamilton's Broadway debut, he now plays Aaron Burr.

Personal life

Since 2008, the breaker has been married to stage director Kate Whoriskey. They have two children.

Daniel Breaker Career

Career

Breaker began his career in 2002, immediately after graduating from Juilliard, and in Off-Broadway, London, and regional theatre performances in the United States. He appeared in five plays at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., as Youth, protagonist of the Off-Broadway premiere of Passing Strange, for which he received an Obie Award in 2008. He was later nominated for a Tony Award for the show's Broadway transfer, in which he appeared in Spike Lee's filmed version of the musical.

On television, the Breaker has also appeared as a guest star.

Donkey was one of his first roles in Shrek The Musical's original Broadway revival, which ran from November 2008 to January 2010. Brian d'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, John Tartaglia, and Christopher Sieber appeared alongside him on Broadway. Breaker received a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his role. On the original cast recording of the show, his voice can be heard.

He has appeared in the plays Well and Cymbeline.

He co-hosted the Obie Awards in 2009.

In The Book of Mormon on Broadway, the breaker appeared as Mafala Hatimbi. In the Park performance of the Love's Labour's Lost musical, he appeared as the King of Navarre in The Public Theater's Shakespeare. Aaron Burr appeared in Hamilton, Illinois, and was a member of the Broadway cast.

He has been a member of the Peacock show Girls5Eva since 2021.
