Colleen Camp Life

Colleen Celeste Camp (born June 7, 1953) is an American character actress and producer.

She was a leading character in the comedy The Swing Cheerleaders (1974), and a part of two different iterations of the Police Academy film series after appearing in several bit parts.

Camp appeared in Game of Death (1978), Apocalypse Now (1979), and The Seduction (1982), after which she appeared in numerous independent and studio films, including Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Palo Alto (2013), and American Hustle (2013).

Early life

Colleen Camp was born in San Francisco, California. Don and Glen are her two brothers. She joined John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, Los Angeles Valley College, and California State University, Northridge, where she majored in English and minored in theater arts.

Personal life

Camp dated Dean Tavoularis, whom she encountered in the Philippines when filming Apocalypse Now. She married John Goldwyn, a Paramount executive, in 1986, but they divorced in 2001. Emily, Emily's one daughter.

Camp's engagement to 34-year-old Garrett Moore, the son of photographer Derry Moore, 12th Earl of Drogheda, was announced in November 2020.

Career

Camp trained macaws at Busch Gardens on weeknights, weekends, and then in the summers when 2,000 people attended six shows in a row. Camp took private acting and singing lessons aspiring to be an actor. She was noticed by a talent agent for her hour-long Busch Gardens television special starring her and her birds, and she was hired for national television commercials for Gallo wine and Touch of Sweden hand lotion. Small television parts appeared in shows such as Marcus Welby, M.D., Happy Days, American Style, and Love, American Style, as well as a six-episode stint on the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man, led to small television appearances in shows such as Marcus Welby, M.D., and American Style.

Camp performed in films including Funny Lady with Barbra Streisand and James Caan, and Smile with Bruce Dern and Barbara Feldon in 1975. Ann, the young aspiring singer in Bruce Lee's film Game of Death (1978) as his mother (her scenes were shot with a lookalike as Lee died before she was involved) performing the film's love theme "I'll Be Singing Tomorrow." Camp continued to portray a Playmate in Francis Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now (followed by a true photograph in the October 1979 Playboy), but the majority of her film was cut from the initial theatrical release. In Coppola's Redux cut, she would appear more prominently. In 1979, she was also the first actress to appear in Kristin Shepard, the sister of Linda Gray's character. Camp was later moved to Mary Crosby, who was later dismissed in this capacity.

Camp spent years in film comedies such as Peter Bogdanovich's 1981 film They All Laughed, 1983's Clue, and 1994 Michael J. Greedy, a Fox comedy. In two of the Police Academy films and Die Hard with a Vengeance, she appeared as a police officer. Camp was first nominated twice for the Worst Support Actress Golden Raspberry Award in 1982, and then for Sliver in 1993. Tracy had a small part in the film Tracy Flick's overbearing mother, with Reese Witherspoon portraying Tracy. In 2009, she appeared in House episode "Simple Explanation."

She appeared in a supporting role in David O. Russell's American Hustle in 2013.
