Christopher Sieber Life

Christopher Luverne Sieber (born February 18, 1969) is an American actor.

He is best known for his roles in Two of a Kind, starring Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, and Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical.

Sieber studied acting and musical comedy at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

Sieber has appeared in Broadway musicals, including Into the Woods, Monty Python's Spamalot, Matilda, and Shrek The Musical.

He is a two-time Tony Award nominee for his roles in Spamalot and Shrek The Musical.

Early life

Sieber was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Fred and Caron Sieber. He is the third child of three children. Mike, his older brother, was a swimmer, and Marc, his younger brother, was in danger alongside him. He is a 1988 graduate of Forest Lake High School in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and was inducted into the Forest Lake Schools Hall of Fame in June 2011. Sieber followed her graduation from New York City to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

Personal life

Though it was All Relative, Sieber came out as gay and said he was happily married to actor and chef Kevin Burrows. They married in New York City on November 24, 2011. The two couples live on an island on Lake Tamarack in the Stockholm area of Hardyston Township, New Jersey.

Sieber is involved with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and has appeared in several of the charity's Broadway Cares revues, among other activities. He teaches drama and performance.

Career

In 1994, Sieber made his off-Broadway debut in a revival of the musical A Christmas Carol. Sieber has appeared in several Broadway musicals, including Into the Woods, Monty Python's Spamalot, and Shrek The Musical. Sieber was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in Spamalot and Shrek The Musical.

Sieber appeared in Not the Messiah, Eric Idle's world premiere, in Toronto on June 1, 2007.

Sieber will be joining Matilda the Musical on Broadway as Miss Trunchbull, which will begin on March 18, 2014, according to the company. However, he did not begin performances until April 18 due to a hand injury sustained in rehearsals.

Sieber made his television debut in 1998 on ABC's Two of a Kind as Kevin Burke, father to the Olsen twins. The series lasted for one season before it was cancelled. Sieber played same-sex parents to Maggie Lawson on ABC's It's All Relative, in which he and John Benjamin Hickey appeared in the series; other co-stars include Reid Scott, Harriet Sansom Harris, and Lenny Clarke. Sieber portrayed an eccentric zoologist for NBC comedy pilot Wildlife in 2007, which was not ordered by the network. Leah Remini and Cheyenne Jackson co-led ABC comedy pilot It Takes a Village in 2010. Sieber has appeared in films including Sex and the City, Pushing Daisies, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and several episodes of The Good Wife in addition to these roles.
