Chloe Webb (born June 25, 1956) is an American actress best known for her appearances in Sid and Nancy (1986), The Belly of an Architect (1988), and Heart Condition (1990).

She was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role as Laurette Barber in ABC's China Beach, and she appeared on Showtime's comedy-drama Shameless as Monica Gallagher.

Early life

Webb was born in New York City's Greenwich Village neighborhood on June 25, 1956. She spent her youth in various places on the East Coast, depending on where her father, a bridge and road designer, was stationed, although she was mainly raised in Syracuse, New York, where she attended Bishop Grimes High School. She began studying at The Boston Conservatory and later, Berklee College of Music, at age 16. In April 1982, Webb joined Forbidden Broadway, an Off-Broadway revue parodying musical theatre, particularly Broadway musicals. Nancy Spence, the physically ill, heroin-addicted girlfriend of punk rock singer Sid Vicious, made her film debut in Alex Cox's Sid & Nancy (1986). The National Society of Film Critics, the Boston Film Critics, and the San Francisco Film Critics all lauded her performance.

In Peter Greenaway's 1986 drama film The Belly of an Architect and as Laurette, a young woman from Paoli, Pennsylvania, who hopes of being a good singer, she also appeared in ABC's drama television series China Beach as Brian Dennehy's estranged socialite cousin. Danny DeVito's eccentric girlfriend in the Ivan Reitman comedy Twins (1988) and a cameo as a woman abducted by aliens in Ghostbusters II (1989). Webb appeared in several Los Angeles stage shows, including the House of Blue Leaves, for which she was recognized as a drama researcher, and The Model Apartment; her appearance earned her a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and another Drama-Logue Award.

In Heart Condition (1990), Webb appeared alongside Denzel Washington and Bob Hoskins. In ABC's made-for-TV film Lucky Day, she starred as a hairdresser in Queens Logic and a woman with a developmental disability who wins the lottery.

In the first season of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City (1993), Mona Ramsey appeared in other roles.

Judging Amy (2003), FOX's House (2005), CBS's Two and a Half Men (2005), and CBS' Investigation of Crime Scene (2008) have all been on television shows; CFR's Judging Amy (2003), CBS's Two and a Half Men (2006), CBS's Medium (2005), and CBS' Investigative Investigation (2008). In 2009, Webb reunited with Cox in his film Repo Chick; she played Sister Duncan.

Monica Gallagher, William H. Macy's character's estranged and troubled wife in Showtime's comedy-drama TV series Shameless, was nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series.
