Club career

Samba came from Le Havre in 2006 and spent his time with the youth team before he was accepted in the first team in 2011.

Samba joined Marseille from Le Havre AC on January 4th, 2013 after completing a four-and-a-half year contract. In a Coupe de France game against Stade Re Reims with a clean sheet in a 2–0 home win, he made his professional debut for Marseille on January 5, 2014 in a Coupe de France game against Stade de Reims on January 5th, 2014 with a clean sheet. Samba joined AS Nancy on a season-long loan on September 9, 2015.

On June 30, 2017, Samba signed Caen on a four-year contract from Marseille.

Samba joined Nottingham Forest, an EFL Championship side, on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He was initially brought in as a back-up for on loan goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, but after Muric made a string of costly mistakes, Forest's number one was named.

In a 1–0 League Cup victory over Fleetwood Town on August 13, he made his Forest debut. In a 2–1 victory over Fulham on August 24, 2019, his league debut came on.

His outstanding results culminated in him being named the Month's Player of the Month for November 2019.

Samba was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year for the 2019–20 season on September 8, 2020.

Samba saved three penalties in the 2022 Championship play-off semi-final against Huddersfield Town, sending Forest through to the final. He continued to play in the 2022 EFL Championship play-off Final before being recalled for Ethan Horvath in the 89th minute after Forest held the lead for the first time in 23 years.

Samba had signed a five-year deal with Ligue 1 club RC Lens for an undisclosed fee on July 5, 2022.
