Brian Edward Kelley (born August 26, 1985) is an American singer best known as a member of the Nashville-based duo Florida Georgia Line.
Kelley, a native of Ormond Beach, Florida, adored sports and music growing up.
He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to study and play baseball at Belmont University, where he met Tyler Hubbard, the other member of the Florida Georgia Line.
Early life
Kelley was born in Ormond Beach, Florida, on August 26, 1985, and the son of Ed and Mary Margaret Kelley. As a youth, Kelley loved sports and writing, and spent the majority of his time playing baseball or at the beach. As he got older, he began writing songs and leading worship at his church. He also had a passion for playing guitar. His sister started introducing him to country artists by playing him tapes on the beach in exchange for Kelley's washing her car. By the time Kelley was ready to graduate from Seabreeze High School and Daytona State College in 2007 and 2007, he was splitting his time between baseball (playing college baseball at Daytona State College and Florida State University and being scouted by the pros) and writing poetry. However, writing filled the void when he was more bench sitting than playing. He later decided to attend Belmont University.
Personal life
He is married to Brittney Marie Cole.
Career
Kelley was introduced to Tyler Hubbard at Belmont University in 2007 while the two were in a campus worship group together. The two became best friends, and they began playing guitar and writing songs together. The two friends got together in Nashville to play writers rounds. The twosome decided to pursue music as a career in 2009, so they began appearing on television shows around the American South. Anything Like Me was released in 2010 by the band members, who also released their first EP, Anything Like Me. They were discovered at a county fair by Nickelback's producer Joey Moi after releasing the EP. The pair released their second album It'z Just What We Do in 2012. "Cruise" was the duo's debut single on television radio on "The Highway" channel first and then began ruise on iTunes, resulting in a record agreement with Republic Nashville and Big Machine Label Group.
Kelley signed a publishing contract with Big Loud Shirt in the fall of 2011.
On December 4, 2012 with Republic Nashville, the two bands released their first studio album, Here's to the Good Times. This album was the sixth best-selling album of 2013. On the Country Airplay chart for December 15, 2012, "Cruise," the album's first single, reached No. 1 position. The Billboard Hot 100's most popular remix of "Cruise" starring Nelly debuted at number four earlier this year. With sales of over 7 million and 24 weeks on Hot Country Songs, the album is also the best-selling country digital album of all time, with over 7 million. "Get Your Shine On," "Stay," "Stay," and "This Is How We Roll" are among the other songs from the album.
Anything Goes, Florida's second album, was announced on August 15, 2014, and it will be published on October 14, 2014. On July 8, 2014, they released "Dirt," the album's first single. "Sun Daze," "Sippin' On Fire," "Anything Goes," and "Confession" are among the album's other singles.
Dig Your Roots, the duo's third album, was released on August 26, 2016. "H.O.L.Y." is one of the singles. "May We All," "God, Your Mama, And Me," and "Smooth" were all included in the "May We All" series.
On February 15, 2019, they debuted Can't Say I Ain't Country, their fourth studio album. "Simple," "Talk You Out of It" and "Blessings are among the singles included in this set.

Since the company's inception, they have signed writer Jordan Schmidt, writer Jimmie Deeghan, writer/artist Drew Castle, writer/artist Drew Castle, as well as singer-songwriters Canaan Smith and RaeLynn. Hubbard and Kelley released Round Here Records, an independent label with Smith as the flagship artist.
Kelley expressed his desire to pursue a solo music career while also being a member of the Florida Georgia Line in January 2021, with the help of fellow duo-member Tyler Hubbard.
