Brian Bloom Career

Life and career

Bloom was born in Merrick, New York. He is the brother of actor Scott Bloom and singer Mike Bloom. He made his debut in the Sergio Leone film Once Upon a Time in America as an infant. Dusty Donovan was offered the role in As the World Turns, which he portrayed for many years. During the 12th Daytime Emmy Awards show for his work on the series, Bloom received an Outstanding Young Leading Man award.

Bloom appeared in several made-for-television films with teen subjects, including Crash Course (1988), Dance 'til Dawn (1988) and Desperate for Love (1989). This led to his appeal for later roles, including appearances in Melrose Place, 2000 Malibu Road, CSI: The Special Victims Unit, Drive, and HBO's Oz. In the Joss Whedon show Dollhouse, he played fanatical cult leader Jonas Sparrow. Bloom appeared in a series of 1994 television movies playing Bandit, a part loosely based on Burt Reynolds' role. Bloom continued his development with Joe Carnahan, starring "Pike" in the 2010 film The A-Team, which Bloom also co-wrote with Carnahan, who directed the 20th Century Fox film based on the television series. Bloom appeared in the 1990 miniseries Voyage of Terror, based on the 1985 Achille Lauro ship hijacking.

Bloom attended the Sheriff's Academy and spent as a Reserve Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff's Department from 2001 to 2011. He is a certified self defense specialist and a Sifu of a rarefied street lethal modern Self Defense System called "Bojuka." He has attended combat seminars and taught the use of force techniques to law enforcement, military, and private security around the world.

Bloom founded and operated AnimalWorldNetwork.com in 1997. The website was an outpost for pet products, news, video clips, and celebrity pet lifestyle coverage, as well as selling and shipping fair-trade, organic and holistic pet supplies with both brick and mortar locations as well as a large online presence. Bloom resold the site and company in 2007 as part of an undisclosed eight-figure agreement.

Bloom is best known for his long-running association with Call of Duty, including voice over and motion capture in the majority of the franchise games beginning with Captain Nick Reyes' appearance in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Activision's first-person shooter video game. Bloom is both the player character and the game's acclaimed writer for 'Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing,' which was nominated by the Writers Guild of America.
