They were the sitcom sixth-formers whose crude antics and hapless quests to lose their virginities had Channel 4 audiences in hysterics. And now, ten years after the stars of The Inbetweeners were last on set for the second movie the series spawned, fans had hoped rumours of a lucrative new film deal could reunite Simon, Jay, Neil and Will. But I can reveal that - despite playing such tight-knit on-screen friends - actors Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Simon Bird, are a world away from their characters in real life, with bitter rivalries dashing any hopes of a reunion. In fact, one source said: 'Weirdly, none of them are really mates and they haven't been for a few years.'

The Inbetweeners fans were left rejoicing this week when Joe Thomas revealed that talks of a reboot are in the works.  Joe, 40, who portrayed Simon in the hit coming-of-age comedy, said all of the main cast are on board to get back together, a decade after the last film was released.  With James Buckley (Jay), Simon Bird (Will) and Blake Harrison (Neil) all on board, Joe suggested that another movie is more likely than a new TV series and would follow the group of lads away from school.

It's been 16 years since The Inbetweeners was first broadcast on television screens across the UK.  The sitcom, which focused on the hilarious lives of four teenagers in Britain, aired for three series between 2008-2010, before being adapted into two films released in 2011 and 2014 respectively.  The classic show made almost $90million at the box office, and propelled protagonists Simon Bird, James Buckley, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison to stardom.
