Blackie Chen Chien-chou (born 2 May 1977) is a Taiwanese television host, actor, basketball coach, investor, and a former basketball player.
Career
When Chen Chien-chou was 18 years old and competed in the 1995 ABC Under-18 Championship, finishing 5th, they finished fifth.
Chen played in the paint, despite the fact that he was only 190 cm (short for even Taiwanese basketball player standards). Charles Barkley, who was also an undersized big man, was modelled in his game (hence his English name, "Charles Chen"). He played for the B national team at the William Jones Cup in 1999 after missing the cut for the Chinese Taipei national basketball team.
Later this year, while playing for a club in the Singaporean league (where he led the league in scoring and rebounding), he tore his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in an accident. As a result, his basketball career came to an end.
