Beram Kayal Life

Beram Kayal (born 2 May 1988) is an Arab-Israeli professional footballer who plays for Charlton Athletic in the Premier League on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

He has played for Israel, where he has been a full international since 2008, with 44 senior caps to date.

Kayal joined Maccabi Haifa in 2002 and made his career debut in 2006 at the age of 18.

Before moving to Celtic in 2010, he made 125 appearances and scored eight goals.

Many Scottish football pundits have lauded him, and he has been named SPL Player of the Month for January 2011.

He joined Brighton in January 2015.

Early and personal life

Kayal was born in Jadei-Makr, Israel, near Haifa, Israel, to a Muslim-Arab family, and is an Arab-Israeli Muslim.

"I'm an Arab-Israeli," he said when talking about being an Arab-Israeli. I'm Arabic. People on the outside can't always get the bigger picture. They want to know how Jewish and Arabic people can live together. But, it's fine; I lived [in Israel] and loved it; and I got to know the people there. I have Jewish friends. It should not really matter whether you are talking about Arabs or Jews in sports. If someone says "Beram Kayal is an Arab player," I'm sure that is enough for me."
