A jury at the Old Bailey found construction worker Ayub Khan, 20, not guilty of three charges of disseminating terrorist publications or carrying a 12-inch knife for a terrorist purpose. Between May 1 and October 3, 2020, Khan, 20, is accused of posting WhatsApp videos and messages promoting Al-Qaeda and IS's activities. The jury, who was deliberating for half a day, was not told that Mohammed Khan, 22, who worked in intelligence, had counted eight counts of publishing a terrorist newspaper before the trial was heard.

Between May 1 and 3, 2020, Ayub Khan, 20, is accused of posting WhatsApp videos and messages celebrating Al-Qaeda and IS's activities. On November 16, 2021, police searched Khan's home in Ealing, west London, and discovered messages sent from his iPhone to a group chat titled 'Salafiyyah'. The Old Bailey had a 12-inch machete with a nylon sheath and a brown wooden handle lying outside Khan's bed. The court heard a black flag emblazoned with a white religious script urging for Jihad that he had bought on Ebay.
