Life and career

Ary Abittan was born in Paris on January 31, 1974. He comes from a Sephardic Jewish (Maghrebi Jewish) family. His father is from Morocco and his mother is from Tunisia. He lived in both Garges-lès-Gonesse and Sarcelles for a part of his childhood. He became a taxi driver, like his father, which allowed him to finance his first theater lessons at 19 years old.

Ary Abittan wrote (in paralel with theater lessons) his first sketches and then appeared on stage in 1994. In 2007, he took the lead role in Jean-Luc Moreau's play Happy Hanukah. He appeared in three seasons of Nos années pension, which was broadcast on France 2.

He appears in Dépression et des potes of Arnaud Lemort in 2012. He made his first appearance in Marrakech du rire in the same year. Philippe de Chauveron's serial (Bad) Weddings with Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby in 2014 and 2015.
