Arthur Robert Ashe Jr. (July 10, 1943-February 6, 1993) was an American professional tennis player who won three Grand Slam titles. Ashe was the first black player to be selected to the United States Davis Cup team and the first black man to win the singles competition at Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Australian Open.

Personal life
Ashe attended photographer and graphic artist Jeanne Moutoussamy at a United Negro College Fund benefit in October 1976. Moutoussamy, a mix of Indo-Guadeloupean and African-American heritage, is the granddaughter of architect John Moutoussamy. They were married in the Church Center for the United Nations in New York City on February 20, 1977, in a service presided by Andrew Young, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations.
Ashe and Moutoussamy adopted Camera, their daughter's name, after her mother's profession.
