Arnold Vosloo Life

Arnold Vosloo (born 16 June 1962) is a South African-American actor.

He is best known for his appearances in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, Colonel Coetzee in Blood Diamond, Pik van Cleef, Dr. v. com.

In Darkman II and Darkman III, Peyton Westlake / Darkman III, Zartan in G.I.

During the fourth season of 24, Joe: The Rise of Cobra and its sequel, and terrorist Habib Marwan.

Early life

Vosloo, a Dutch and German immigrant, was born into a Pretoria acting family, with his parents being stage-actors. In Alberton, Gauteng, his father operated a drive-in theater. He has just one sibling. He took drama classes at the Technikon Pretoria after high school and military service (from which he was able to receive a medical discharge).

Personal life

After marrying his Act of Piracy and Skeleton Coast co-star Nancy Mulford in 1988, Vosloo became a naturalized United States citizen; three years later, they divorced. Silvia Ahr, a Mexican-American marketing manager, married her on October 16, 1998. Vosloo and Ah's spokespersons for the International Fund for Animal Welfare, IFAW.

In an interview with Charlie Rose, Vosloo said he looked like American actor Billy Zane. "Of course, of course," Vosloo said when people asked him if he was "the guy in Titanic." This is a parody of sorts.

Vosloo began his acting career in the South African theatre, winning numerous Dalro Awards for his appearances in such plays as Don Juan, Hamlet, and Môre is a Long Day) and he quickly became a regular at Pretoria's State Theatre. He appeared in Torch Song Trilogy and received another award for the television show Meisie van Suid-Wes (Girl from South West).

In 1984, he moved to film, where he continued Dalro Award-winning performances in films including Boetie gaan Border toe (a film about the Border War) and Circles in a Forest (based on the book Kringe in 'n Bos by author Dalene Matthee) continued. Vosloo appeared in Boetie op maneuvers (Boetie on maneuvers) in 1986. Morenga (1985), The Rutanga Tapes (1990), and Morenga (1985) followed the German three-parter Morenga (1985). Vosloo returned to the theatre where he appeared in Born in the United Statesa upon his arrival in the United States. In the short-lived production of Salomé (1992) with Al Pacino, in Chicago's Northlight Theatre and in the NY's Circle.

In 1492, his American film debut was made: Conquest of Paradise (1992). He appeared in two less popular sequels to the 1990 film Darkman II: The Return of Durant (1994) and Darkman III: The Return of a Darkman (1996), filling Liam Neeson's role as the titular character Darkman. He's also known for portraying villains such as in the John Woo film Hard Target (1993), starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. He appeared in The Mummy (1999 film starring Brendan Fraser), as well as its 2001 sequel, The Mummy Returns. He appeared in both films as Imhotep, an ancient Egyptian high priest. In the 2003 film Agent Cody Banks, Vosloo played François Molay, the main villain's henchman.

The Revenge of the Mummy was introduced in 2004 in both Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood. Both Vosloo and Fraser were on hand at both openings to promote the new rides, in which both of them appear, as well as a life size snapshot of Vosloo as The Mummy.

He appeared in many television series, including The Red Shoe Diaries, American Gothic (1995), Nash Bridges (1995), and NCIS (2009). He was one of the main characters in Veritas: The Quest (2003). Habib Marwan, the terrorist leader, played a significant role in the fourth season of 24 (2005). In 2009 as Fulcrum agent Vincent, Vosloo appeared in three episodes of Chuck as a Fulcrum agent.

Vosloo died in 2004 when he returned to South Africa to make Forgiveness concerning an ex-cop who is trying to locate the body of an anti-Apartheid activist who was killed. In the 2006 film Blood Diamond, which was partially shot in South Africa, he played mercenary Colonel Coetzee. Vosloo has participated in video games: His appearance, as well as his voice, was selected for Boiling Point: Road to Hell, which was released in summer 2005 by ATARI. In the G.I.'s summer 2009 release, Vosloo portrayed Cobra mercenary and master of disguise, Zartan. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, reprising his villainous role in the 2013 film G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
