She climbed onto number 1 on the Portuguese ITunes chart with her single (Be Ok), and has now released as a compilation of all her singles, her debut album called : game.of.love.

Personal life

Mariana Barreiros dos Santos Gonçalves was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. Whilst her mother's Portuguese, but with Italian origins, her father is from Lisbon. Mariana's the middle child of two brothers, João Miguel aged 14, and Miguel aged 24. She studied at St.Julians School since the age of three, until college, where she got a degree in Marketing and Advertisement at IADE - Universidade Europeia , whilst pursuing her musical career.

She dated Manchester City player and International Portuguese player Ruben Dias from 2018 to 2021.

She began her artistic career at the age of ten, where she played the role 'Molly' in the Portuguese version of 'Toy Story 3'. It was her first professional exposure to a studio and the cultural scene in the United States. She appeared on Disney's 'Tangled' and 'Molly and Me' after that.

Her passion for music grew stronger as April's 'Flames on Fire,' where she appeared as the guitarist and lead singer, as well as the guitarist and lead singer. The band will appear at school functions and parties, and April (or Mariana at the time) will sell their merchandise to parents and relatives. She was posting covers and original songs on Youtube and Spotify one year ago. She undertook an internship at Portugal's radio station company for a week, where she was scouted by Mega Hits' director Nelson Cunha at the age of 14.

April began her career as an artist at the tender age of 16 with her debut "Be Ok." She rose to the top of national radio airplay lists, as well as the top of national Spotify, YouTube, and iTunes charts, composing and performing the songs. In terms of sales, the single made it into the top 100 of the national charts debuting and peaking in 1st, as well as being a part of the Portuguese television teen series "Massa Fresca" soundtrack. She first signed her first international contract with Universal Music France in June 2016. April was then invited to perform at the Santa Casa Stage of the 2016 MEO Sudoeste due to her chart-topping hit 'Be Ok'. "Shut Up" by Janet In November, her song "Shut Up" became the basis of the Portuguese telenovela "A Impostora".

In the 2016 MTV EMA, April was nominated for Best Portuguese Act in the MTV EMA as well as Best Newcomer in the 2017 Golden Globes (Portugal), but she lost to actress Beatriz Frazo. In the 2016 "Melhores do Ano" gala by Radio Nova Age, April received the award for Best Newcomer.

April performed at MEO Stage, the 2017 MEO Sudoeste's main stage, on August 5, 2017, during her summer tour.

On July 19, 2019, she unveiled her first album "game.of.love," which featured her first six singles as well as four new songs. Warner Music Portugal produced the album.
