Kim Ye-rim was born in Seoul, South Korea, on March 5, 1999. Yoo-rim, Ye-eun, and Chae-eun are three of her younger sisters. In 2018, Yeri graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School.

Career

Since auditioning at the SM Weekly Audition in 2011, Yeri joined SM Entertainment. In 2014, she debuted as one of SM Entertainment's pre-debut training team SM Rookies on the SM Town Live World Tour IV. She appeared briefly in Red Velvet's debut album, "Happiness," before debuting as a member in 2015.

Yeri was first introduced as a new member of Red Velvet on March 10, 2015, during the launch of their first extended play (EP) Ice Cream Cake. Yeri performed MBC's music program from May 9 to November 14, MBC's first music program show on Monday! Minho from Shinee and N from VIXX joined Music Core in a live concert.

Yeri appeared in J-Min and Shim Eun-jee's "Way Back Home" music video, which was released as part of the project SM Station in July 2016. Together with Leeteuk, Yeri became an MC for the SM C&C web-variety initiative The Viewable SM.

Ragoon, a singer from London, launched EP Talking in December 2017, whose lead single "Story" was co-written by Yeri.

In April 2018, Yeri was confirmed as part of JTBC's latest variety show Secret Unnie, alongside Han Chae-young. Yeri performed in the third season SM Station on December 13, 2013, together with NCT's Renjun, Jeno, and Jaemin. The Beat Goes On! officially released the Korean soundtrack version of "Hair in the Air" from the television series "Trolls.

As a part of SM Station Season 3, the music video for Yeri's first self-composed solo project "Dear Diary" was released on March 14, 2019. Yeri was confirmed as part of Law of the Jungle in Thailand in May. "Today is better than Monday" by South Korean rapper Giant Pink's album "Tuesday is better than Monday."

The first episode of Yeri's reality-variety show Yeri's Room aired on YouTube channel Dum Dum Studio on June 8, 2020. Every Monday and Wednesday, new episodes were broadcast, with special clips added every Friday. Nayeon, a Twice member, appeared in the first episode. Yeri was involved in the NCSOFT Fever 2020 Cool Summer Project on July 24, and Cool unveiled a version of "Woman On The Beach" by Cool as a member of AB6IX Jeong and Ravi. "Sorrow," the third song remake in the project, was announced on August 7. Yeri appeared in the music video alongside Ravi and Kim Woo-seok.

In February 2021, Yeri was cast in tvN's one-act drama Drama Stage's episode "Mint Condition." Yeri was named as the female lead of the web series Blue Birthday on April 7.
