Anu Emmanuel was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on March 28th, 1996 to a Malayali Christian Catholic family. She is the daughter of Thankachan Emmanuel, a well-known Malayalam film director. Her family is settled in Dallas, Texas. She remained in the United States and then moved to India to pursue acting. Reba Monica John, a Malayali actress, is her cousin.
Career
Emmanuel made her acting debut in Nivin Pauly's Action Hero Biju, directed by Abrid Shine. Her Telugu debut with Majnu was opposite to Nani. The film went on to become a hit at the box-office. She was introduced as the female lead in Oxygen during that time, alongside actor Gopichand in the lead. She made her Tamil debut with Thupparivaalan in 2017 alongside Vishal.
In Agnyaasi in 2018, she was opposite Pawan Kalyan. She was the leading role in Shailaja Reddy Alludu, along with Naga Chaitanya and Ramya Krishna. She made a cameo appearance in Geetha Govindam. She appeared in her second Tamil film Namma Veetu Pillai opposite Sivakarthikeyan, which was a hit at the box-office.
