Anthony Scaramucci (born January 6, 1964) dubbed "The Mooch") is an American financier, entrepreneur, and political consultant who briefly served as the White House Director of Communications from July 21 to July 31, 2017. Between 1989 and 1996, Scaramucci worked with Goldman Sachs' investment banking, equities, and private wealth management divisions.
After leaving Goldman Sachs, he founded Oscar Capital Management and in 2005, he founded SkyBridge Capital. Scaramucci was named White House Communications Director on July 21, 2017.
He started working on July 25, but he hadn't been sworn in yet. Scaramucci's first day on the job sparked controversy after an expletive-laden interview with The New Yorker's Ryan Lizza, in which he made obscene and strongly derogatory remarks against several members of the Trump administration.

Early life
Scaramucci was born in Port Washington, Italy, on January 6, 1964, where he was raised in Long Island, New York. He was the son of Marie DeFeo Scaramucci and Alexander Scaramucci, who worked as a building worker. Alessandro Scaramucci, his paternal grandfather, migrated to the United States from Gualdo, Umbria. He had a middle-class upbringing and was the first generation of his family to attend college. David, his older brother, and Susan, his sister. Scaramucci graduated in 1982 from Paul D. Schramber Senior High School in Port Washington, where he served as the student council president. He obtained a B.A. A J.D. and a Tufts University economics major. Among other things, he related with current president Barack Obama, current deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, and prospective supreme court justice Neil Gorsuch at Harvard Law School. The jersey was sold in a private auction for $365,000, the highest price ever paid for a modern-day jersey, which Scaramucci characterized as having "tremendous artistic symbolism." Career in investment banking
Scaramucci started his career at Goldman Sachs in 1989, in the Investment Banking segment. He was fired a year earlier and then rehired in the Equities division two months later. He became Vice President in the bank's Private Wealth Management division in 1993.
Scaramucci and his colleague Andrew Boszhardt joined Goldman in 1996 to create Oscar Capital Management. Oscar Capital was sold to Neuberger Berman in 2001, and Scaramucci became a managing director in the firm's Investment Management division after Neuberger Berman's sale to Lehman Brothers in 2003.
Scaramucci founded SkyBridge Capital, a multinational alternative investment firm, in 2005. Scaramucci is the chairman of the SkyBridge Alternatives Conference, or "SALT" Conference, which began in 2009. SALT's annual flagship event in Las Vegas and an international event in the Fall/Winter. SALT has organized major conferences in Singapore, Tokyo, and, most recently, Abu Dhabi.
