Anthony Ha-Jin Kim (born June 19, 1985) is an American professional golfer with three PGA Tour victories, a Ryder Cup, and President's Cup to his name, but he hasn't played a PGA Tour event since being injured in 2012.
Amateur career
Kim, a Korean American, was born in Los Angeles, California, and lives in Dallas, Texas. He attended La Quinta High School in La Quinta, California. After high school, he attended the University of Oklahoma for three years; here is where he met his caddie, Brodie Flanders. In the 2005 Walker Cup, he was a member of the winning USA team.
Professional career
Kim began playing professionally in 2006 and finished second in a tie for second on his first PGA Tour appearance at the 2006 Valero Texas Open, after receiving a sponsor's waiver. He earned his PGA Tour card through the qualifying school for the 2007 season. During his rookie season on the PGA Tour, he got off to a good start and shot into the top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings in May 2007. In the 2007 U.S. Open, he shot a 67 in the final round, giving him a tie for 20th place (he started the day at T57). His 67 was his lowest for the round and second lowest for the tournament.
Kim captured his first PGA Tour tournament at the Wachovia Championship in May 2008, defeating former British Open champion Ben Curtis by five shots. Kim's 16-under par 272 total was the lowest score in the tournament's history prior to 2015. He fired an opening day 70 but then returned to successive rounds of 67-69, leaving Curtis many shots ahead of him. He earned $1,152,000 for his victory, as well as a new career record of 16th in the world rankings.
Kim captured his second PGA Tour tournament at the AT&T National in July 2008, defeating Freddie Jacobson by two shots. Kim captured the title after shooting a 5 under 65 in the fourth round. The victory was especially significant because Tiger Woods is the tournament's host. In addition, Kim became the first American under 25 to win twice in a year on the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods in 2000. With this victory, he climbed to 14th place in the World Rankings. In the final two FedEx Cup events, he ranked sixth in the World Rankings, thanks to two T-3 finishes. He has been in the top ten for more than 20 weeks since 2008.
Kim was instrumental in the United States' victory in the Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in September 2008, defeating Ryder Cup veteran Sergio Garca 5 & 4 in the first match of the Sunday singles. He made his first appearance in the 2009 European Tour for the second year in a row, with the 2008 HSBC Champions being the first tournament of the 2009 season.

Kim's 2010 season was marred by injuries, and he did not qualify for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Kim underwent surgery in June 2012 after injuring the Achilles tendon in his left leg, and he was expected to miss 9 to 12 months. Kim was eligible for the 2013 season as a result of a Major Medical Exemption, but he has yet to participate in a single tournament since being disqualified.
Kim no longer plays golf, even on a recreational level, according to Golf Channel in April 2014. Kim participated in a number of charity activities in 2016, but says he is not yet ready to play professionally.
