Emotional Scottie Scheffler breaks down and tells heavily pregnant wife Meredith 'I love you and I'm coming home' as he makes the dash back for the birth of their second child moments after his second Masters triumph

Scottie Scheffler broke down in Butler Cabin (left) after his win at the Augusta National on Sunday as he dashed to quickly get home to his wife Meredith, (pictured on right with Scheffler last month) who is pregnant with their first child. Scheffler, 27, secured his second Masters title in three years after carding a closing 68 at Augusta National to finish four shots ahead of Sweden's Ludvig Aberg. But after his victorious triumph on the course, the world number one's thoughts immediately turned to getting home to Texas as soon as possible. 'I'm coming home; I'll be home as quick as I can,' Scheffler (pictured inset with his Masters trophy) said when asked if he had a message for his wife. 'I love you and I'm coming home.'

TEE-TIME TALES: Gary Player comes out swinging in defence of Winston Churchill, the press box are at risk from the driving range... and Tommy Fleetwood takes an early lead in the sartorial stakes

MIKE KEEGAN'S AUGUSTA DIARY: Gary Player was on typically forthright form when he and his fellow old boys faced the Press. One of the topics of conversation with Player, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus centred on legacies. 'Personally, I don't believe in legacies,' said the legendary 88-year-old South African and three-time champ. 'If you take my all-time heroes, Winston Churchill, he was probably the greatest leader for the last 200 years, without going into the Ottomans and all the great leaders.

Max Homa calls out rumors on Tigers Woods' 'sex ban' ahead of Masters

Quizzed about the claim by Barstool Sports' PFT Commenter on the eve of the major, Homa was first asked if he was taking a 'similar route' to the five-time Masters' champion's unusual method. 'Uhm... some days by choice, some days not, I guess,' Homa, who's been married to his current wife Lacey Croom since 2019, joked at first.
