Alain Gordon Whyte (born 3 July 1967) is an English musician, composer, and singer.
He is best known for his role as Morrissey's most popular songwriting partner and guitarist from 1991 to 2007.
(Many Morrissey–Whyte compositions were also released as late as 2009, after Whyte had left Morrissey's band). Whyte has been in the bands Rugcutters, Red Lightning, Motivators, Born Bad, and the Memphis Sinners, before 1991.
He has written for Madonna, Chris Brown, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, and many others.
