During Thursday night's Jets-Browns game on Amazon Prime, Al Michaels took a shot at the Houston Astros and the team's cheating fiasco. 'Somebody's pounding on the garbage can.' During the second quarter, Michaels said the Astros must be in town. Throughout the video, the outlawing of garbage can lids can be heard in the background at FirstEnergy Stadium.

After being left out of NBC's NFL playoff coverage for 2022, Al Michaels 'caught off guard by being left off guard.'

The Al Michaels will not watch any of NBC's four NFL playoff games, a change the 79-year-old broadcaster wasn't expecting. Since joining NBC in 2006, Michaels had been part of the network's football postseason coverage. According to the New York Post, the 17-season streak is now over. Michaels, alongside Tony Dungy, declared the Jacksonville Jaguars' victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last year to extend his streak another year.

In the Cowboys' victory over the Seahawks, Al Michaels slammed 19 penalties for 257 yards on a slew of calls: 'We're going to have the night off and left official Clete Blakeman calls the game's.'

On Thursday night football, NFL referee Blakeman and his officiating crew stole the show, leaving veteran play-by-play announcer Al Michaels looking for something else to entertain his time. Following one of 19 fouls in Arlington, Texas, Michaels said, 'We're going to have the rest of the night off and let Clete Blakeman call the game.' 'You buying?'Yes,' replied color commentator Kirk Herbstreit, who was obliviously agreeing to join Michaels for a glass of beer.' The Cowboys' 41-35 victory over the Seattle Seahawks was amusing, but many felt the frequent flags distracted from the game.
