Career

In Tom Stoppard's play On the Razzle, a 13-year-old Woodyatt appeared on stage at the National Theatre. Woodyatt appeared in the BBC's children's drama series The Baker Street Boys (1983). He then put his acting career on hold and worked as a butcher in Wales for a brief period before joining the cast of BBC soap opera EastEnders. Woodyatt has been the longest-serving male cast member in EastEnders and is not expected to remain long beyond the first year. Sharon Watts, Gillian Taylforth, and Jane Slaughter, as well as Letitia Dean, Kathy Beale, and Tracey. His longevity was lauded at the British Soap Awards in 2013, where he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for his portrayal of Ian Beale.

Woodyatt has appeared on several BBC game shows and charity auctions, including A Question of Sport, Robot Wars (winning the show's Celebrity Special with the robot Pussycat) and Children in Need. In a pantomime production of Snow White at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre in 2015, Woodyatt played the henchman of the Wicked Queen. Woodyatt said, "I absolutely love being in front of an audience because it's so different from film – I love the audience's reaction." I'm really looking forward to spending Christmas at the Wyvern Theatre, which, I know, has a reputation for staging outstanding pantomimes."

Gavin Osborn, a comedy singer, released a song titled "Adam Woodyatt" on April 24th, 2015. He appeared on Celebrity Masterchef in 2019.

Woodyatt would take a "prolonged break" from appearing in EastEnders in August 2020.

Woodyatt was named one of the two annual late entrants on the twenty-first series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in November 20,21, working with Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson. On day 18 from Gwrych Castle (hosting its second season) in Wales, he was disqualified, finishing in sixth place in sixth place.

Woodyatt took up photography while watching On The Razzle at the National Theatre as a child.

He received the Architectural Photographer of the Year Award of the Society of Photographers in 2008 with a photograph he took at St Pancras, where he was filming EastEnders.
