Gonzaga won the WCC regular-season title for the second time. Morrison was a member of the All-WCC First Team and was selected to the Basketball Times All-West Coast Team as well as being named an honorable mention by Associated Press All-American.

Morrison did well against two of the sport's top programs in his rookie year at Gonzaga's first two games of the 2005–06 season. Morrison scored 25 points in a Gonzaga victory over Maryland in the first round. In a triple-overtime victory over Michigan State in the semifinals, he continued his good work by scoring 43 points. In a losing effort, he matched his output against Washington, which was in-state rivalry on December 4, 2005. Morrison and the Zags recovered a week later, beating Oklahoma State with a three-pointer a week earlier to give Gonzaga a two-point lead and ultimately the victory.

He had 13 games of 30-plus points in the regular season, five of which were over 40. He was the nation's best scorer in 2005-2006, scoring 288.1 points per game. His scoring totals against teams in the "major" conferences were no less impressive; he averaged 28.5 points in 11 such games. Morrison won by a 194 points (including 37 in the second half alone) against the Loyola Marymount Lions on February 18, a career high 44 points.

Morrison led the Zags to 24 points in a 2006 NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteen match against UCLA, which the Zags lost in the final seconds after UCLA had eliminated a 17-point deficit coming out of the first half. Morrison broke down in tears and collapsed to the court with seconds remaining, with seconds remaining. Morrison's teammates had stepped away after Morrison's teammates had fewer than 5 seconds. Arron Afflalo, a UCLA player, eventually helped him to his feet. For this unbridled display of emotion, he has been both chastised and lauded. He and his childhood friend JJ Redick of Duke later announced the national player of the year award. Morrison's last collegiate game came as he later decided to turn pro, forgoing his senior year of college.

Professional career

The Charlotte Bobcats selected Morrison third overall in the 2006 NBA draft, behind Andrea Bargnani (Toronto Raptors) and LaMarcus Aldridge (Chicago Bulls). In a 113-102 victory over the Indiana Pacers, he scored his career high of 30 points on December 29, 2006. However, Morrison lost his starting position midway through his rookie season in part because of his defense and because he shot only 37% for the year.

Morrison sustained a serious knee injury in his left knee in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers on October 21, 2007, while protecting Luke Walton, bending his knee laterally and falling to the ground in pain. After the game revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament tear, an MRI scan was performed (ACL). Morrison underwent surgery on November 10 to fix the damage. Morrison missed the entire 2007–08 NBA season after being revealed to be a torn ACL, requiring several months of physical therapy after the knee had recovered.

Morrison signed with KK Crvena zvezda in September 2011. In November 2011, he was released from his job to pursue other opportunities. Morrison averaged 15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 29 minutes a game during his eight-game stay in Belgrade (he missed one away game due to a minor injury), becoming his team's top scorer and second overall top performer in the 2011–12 Adriatic League season.

Morrison signed with Beşiktaş Milangaz for the remainder of the 2011–12 season in January 2012. However, he left the team in April 2012 due to a lack of playing time.

Morrison was out of the NBA for five weeks after being suspended by the Wizards and averaged 5.2 points and 19.2 minutes in five games with the team. In 5 games, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers' Summer League team, scoring 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists on 55% FG (38–69), 61% 3-PT (13–21), and 78% FT (11–14).

AMERICATED: During games, a March Madness star is required to wear a glucose monitor to motivate youth athletes with diabetes

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 19, 2024
Traudt, 19, will be with the Bluejays in Pittsburgh against Akron on Thursday in the NCAA Tournament. He had daily insulin injections until he changed to an insulin pump at age 7. Depending on what his glucose monitor says at halftime, he may need to grab some energy chews for a sugar boost in games. 'I don't think I've ever seen anyone put down a packet of chews quicker than Isaac,' athletic trainer Ben McNair said. He'll probably knock a pack of those down in ten to fifteen seconds,' says the author.'
