Early life
Willow Shields was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the daughter of Carrie and Rob Shields, an art teacher. Autumn and River, her twin sister, and an older brother, River, are both actors.

Career
Shields' first appearance in 2008 was in 2008, where she had a small narrating role in the short film Las Vegas New Mexico 1875. Lisa Rogan appeared on her first film appearance on "In My Humboldt Opinion," a minor character introduced in the episode "In My Humboldt Opinion" (which was released in 2009. Shields was next cast in the science fiction adventure film The Hunger Games in April 2011, her first feature film role, where she was given Primrose Everdeen's supporting role.
