Kristin Smart's killer Paul Flores is seen in 48-minute police interrogation video from 1996

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 8, 2023
In a police interrogation video from last year that was released this week, Paul Flores, who was guilty of the murder of Kristin Smart in October 2022, was shown. The young Flores was confronted with why he lied to investigators about how he got his black eye, first saying he learned by playing basketball but then later changed his story to state he struck his head on his car steering wheel. Flores held his hands up and sputtered to the investigators: 'Why does it matter if I leave out little details?' Kristin Smart, a 19-year-old girl who disappeared from a college party in May 1996, was found guilty in October 2022 of murdering 19. The information obtained by KSBY News this week was not expected to be released by the Monterey County Superior Court until after Flores' sentencing. On February 24, the defense team for Flores' filed a motion for a fresh trial. Flores' sentencing hearing will be held on March 10, when the judge will either sentence Flores or grant him a new trial.
