Spectacular aerial images show how modern society has transformed the planet, leaving parts looking like an alien landscape, from Arizona to Australia

Edward Burtynsky's otherworldly images are on display at Saatchi Gallery, London, and have been compiled into a new book called Edward Burtynsky: Extraction/Absorption. Burtynsky said: 'I have spent more than 40 years on this planet witnessing how modern civilization has drastically changed our world.' The awareness of these topics displayed by my large-format photographs has never been more timely at this point.'

Lockbit hacker Andrew argues that the reason why the gang's website was down is because he became "very lazy" after five years of swimming in money, causing a new one to emerge on the dark web

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 27, 2024
Last week, the shadowy Russian-linked company was the object of a new international law enforcement campaign that culminated in the detention of several of its employees and accusations. However, after being taken down by an international coalition led by the National Crime Agency, the cybercrime group has recovered services and is back in business. Lockbit first noticed issues early in the morning of February 19, according to a blog on the dark web, but then things went back to normal. 'I didn't pay much attention to it because after five years [sic] of swimming in money I became very lazy,' they wrote. Mikhail Pavlovich Matveev, a hacker who has a $10 million bounty on his head, is pictured on the left.

The threat that hit Royal Mail and Porton Down has been reported by a Russian-linked cyber group, only a week after Britain's FBI commemorated them down

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 27, 2024
Last week, Lockbit, the world's most feared ransomware group, was the object of an unprecedented international law enforcement operation that culminated in some of its employees being arrested and charged. However, after being taken down by the National Crime Agency (also known as 'Britain's FBI') and other international allies, the cybercrime group claims to have restored its services and is back in operation. Lockbit, which accounts for up to a quarter of ransomware attacks, has caused a lot of commotion by hacking into computer networks and stealing personal information that the attackers will not get out unless the victims pay an extortionate ransom. The Russian-speaking hackers make money by delivering their services to fellow criminal organisations, including Royal Maild, the NHS, Porton Down, and hundreds of corporations both nationally and internationally.
