Weronika Anna Rosati (Polish pronunciation: [vr'satji]; born 9 January 1984) is a Polish actress. She made her acting debut in 2000 and first gained notoriety in the Polish soap opera M jak mio (2002–2020). She appeared in numerous other Polish television series before landing her first film role in Patryk Vega's 2005 action drama Pitbull, which went on to become a cult film in Poland. Obawa (2012), which earned her a Polish Film Award nomination for Best Actress, and Never Gonna Snow Again (2020), two of her most popular films.

Rosati began her international work with a small uncredited role in David Lynch's 2006 film Inland Empire. She has appeared in several minor roles in English-language films, including The Iceman (2012), Bullet to the Head (2012), and Men of Courage (2016), as well as appearing on television. In 2012, she appeared on HBO's original television show Luck. She has appeared in Obce cia (2014) and Porady na zdrady (2017), as well as in television in Majka (2009–2010), Czas honoru (2010), Straacy (2015–2016), and Zawsze warto (2019–2020). Rosati, besides acting, is a vocal advocate for domestic violence victims.

Life and career

Weronika Anna Rosati was born in Warsaw on January 9, 1984, to Polish-Italian father Dariusz Rosati, a professor of economics and former member of the European Parliament, and his wife Teresa, a Polish fashion designer. Marcin, her older brother, is 12 years old. When she was two, she and her family moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where her father taught as a lecturer, and when she was six, they moved to Switzerland for five years before returning to Poland. She is an excellent listener and French speaker who spent significant portions of her childhood in other countries. She took Dolores as her confirmation name after being announced.

Rosati enrolled in acting and acrobatics at the Warsaw Ochota Theatre as a youth and studied at the Warsaw Studio Buffo Theatre. She attended the Halina and Jan Machulski Private Acting School in Warsaw. She began an acting degree at the National Film School in 2003, but after one and a half years, she stopped studying due to M jak mioo filming commitments, but she never returned. She moved to New York at the age of 21, where she attended various acting colleges, including the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatres, the Larry Moss Studio, and the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, as well as the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Rosati made her acting debut in 2000 as "Niki" in the Polish television series Klasa na obcasach, which she followed with numerous guest appearances in other Polish television series. She first gained fame in 2002 when she appeared in Ania in the Polish soap opera M jak mio (L for Love). She appeared in 2005, but then returned in 2018 and then launched in 2020. Pitbull, Patryk Vega's 2005 Polish action film, was a critical hit and has since been made into a cult film. Rosati received two Golden Duck Award nominations for her portrayal of Gemma, the main character's (Marcin Dorociski) love interest. She appeared in the film's television version from 2005 to 2008.

Rosati has been lauded for her work as a Best Actress nominee and was nominated for the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress. Also in American films this year, Rosati has risen to greater prominence. In the action film Bullet to the Head, she played Livi in the biopic The Iceman, Irena in the crime comedy Stand Up Guys, and Lola in the action film Bullet to the Head.

In an episode of season 11 of the American dark fantasy television series Supernatural, Delphine Seydoux played Russian man-eater Oksana and played Russian man-eater Oksana in a "two-show arc" of season one of TBS' comedy series The Detour. Collider characterized her performance in the former as "positively dazzling." In the recurring role of Beata, she joined the cast of the Polish television medical drama Diagnosis. Ms. Huber, the wife of General Huber, was the wife of Stephen Dorff in Martha Coolidge's period drama I'll Find You, set in 1930s and 1940s Poland. The film premiered at the 2019 Taormina Film Festival. In 2019, Rosati began starring Marta, one of three leading characters in the Polish television series Zawsze warto, which spanned two seasons between 2019 and 2020.

Never Gonna Snow Again, directed by Magorzata Szumowska and Micha Englert, premiered in the 77th Venice International Film Festival's Main competition, garnering critical acclaim. In the 2021 psychological horror video game The Medium, she lent her likeness to Marianne, for which she was completely motion-captured. In season 12 of NCIS: Los Angeles that year, Rosati appeared as Vanya.

Rosati was in a relationship with Polish-American journalist Max Kolonko in 2005. Andrzej uwski, the Polish director who lived between 2007 and 2008, published a book called Nocnik in 2010 that featured Esther, a character allegedly based on Rosati. As the book contained intimate information about her, she sued both the book's publisher and the book's author for breaching her right to privacy and dignity as a woman. In 2015, she was convicted of winning the lawsuit. In September 2013, Rosati was a passenger in a car driven by her then-partner, Polish actor Piotr Adamczyk, who was involved in a road tragedy. She was unable to walk after a leg injury in the crash and needed several surgeries and continued long-term physiotherapy, which prevented her from working for many months. In 2015, Rosati and Adamczyk broke up. She was engaged to Polish orthopedic surgeon Robert migielski, with whom she was in a relationship between 2016 and 2018.
