Valery Milagros Ortiz (born August 1, 1984) is a Puerto Rican actress, dancer, composer, and author best known for her role as Madison Duarte on VH1's Hit the Floor and Dina Duran in Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.
Early life
Ortiz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and grew in Orlando, Florida. Since being granted a scholarship to The Southern Ballet Theatre Performing Art Center in Orlando, she explored her dance abilities. She continued dancing but was forced out of it in middle school as her passion for theatre and acting developed. She appeared on the Universal Studios backlot in Orlando as an extra. She was accepted into the Dr. Phillips High School performing arts magnet program following in her older brother's footsteps. Ortiz began working in several productions including Latins Anonymous (Orlando Fringe Festival), A Midsummer Night's Dream as Helena, The Valiant Monologues (Orlando Premiere) and The Edinburgh, Scotland Fringe Festival after four years of study, as a student at the University of Edinburgh.

Ortiz was born in Los Angeles, California, and now lives there. She loves reading, hiking, designing, and writing.
Career
Ortiz was given the opportunity to work on the television show Splat while attending the University of Central Florida for a Bachelor of Fine Arts. As a host, you will function as a host. A two-week road trip "vacation" to Los Angeles morphed into permanent relocation to Los Angeles in the first season. Ortiz got off to work on a local television station named LATV Live as a VJ.
Ortiz appeared in the comedy Date Movie as Jell-O, a Jennifer Lopez impersonation while working at the Hard Rock Cafe as a hostess. She appeared in the film South of Nowhere, the television show. She appeared in Emily's Reasons Why Not, a pilot program that was picked up and aired in 2006. She appeared on an episode of Two and a Half Men in 2010. She is currently an anchor for SiTV and E! News from the BBC. Ortiz was listed as "One of the Top 25 Latinas of 2006" by Maxim en Espaol. Ortiz starred Raquel Saldana in Hit the Floor, a scripted VH1 series that premiered in May 2013.
In August 2019, Disney Channel announced the premiere date for their latest live-action comedy series Gabby Duran and the Unsittables, with Ortiz playing Dina Duran. The show received a Disney Channel early season 2 renewal ahead of its series premiere in October 2019.
