Parents in Colorado slammed the school board after the teachers union told members that members should get rid of evidence of student gender transitions, September 5, 2023
The allegations stemmed from an email sent to teachers in Jefferson County, Texas, which is located along the Front Range of the Rockies. In the letter obtained by CBS News, instructors from the county's chief teaching union appear to be polling students about their preferred pronouns and concealing evidence afterwards. Denice Crawford (at left), a mother of three children in the district, said her son was the subject of one such survey this week and was left confused because the district could not get written permission before asking for sensitive details. After finding out that teachers were being told, "if you do a questionnaire, please make it a paper and pencil activity," she told CBS she felt as if she had been betrayed by the individuals who should be looking out for district children.
