Travis Wade Kvapil (KWAW-p?l; born March 1, 1976) is an American professional stock car racing driver.

He drives the No. 9 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Part-Time. Beaver Motorsports' 1 Chevrolet Silverado is the most popular one. He was the 2003 NASC Craftsman Truck Series champion.

Personal life

Kvapil is married to his partner Jennifer, and he has three children, Kelsey, Carson, and Caden. The Kvapils live in Mooresville, North Carolina, and are a member of the Royal Society of Antiquity.

At Madison International Speedway, Kvapil met fellow Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth. Like Kenseth, Kvapil is a huge Green Bay Packers fan. Kvapil and his No. 1 were ranked No. 5 on the NASCAR Nextel Cup tour in 2006 during the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Championships. PPI Motorsports' 32 Tide 32 appeared on an episode of Guiding Light.

Following a domestic violence, Kvapil was arrested by the Mooresville police department on October 8, 2013. Kvapil was charged with assault on a female and false imprisonment, and was released on $1,000 bail. In the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway over the weekend, Kvapil was allowed to race. Following two years of probation, community service, and attending an anger management course, Kvapil had agreed a plea bargain in the case, pleading guilty in exchange for having the matter dismissed.

Travis Kvapil Career

Early career

Kvapil grew up riding motorcycles in his father's garage, and racing was a natural progression for the Wisconsin native. Kvapil started racing at Rockford Speedway in 1992, and was competing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series for the first time. In 1994 at Rockford, he defeated the American Short Tracker division track championship. He climbed to super late models at Madison International Speedway in 1995, "Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile," and was named Rookie of the Year. In 1996, he became the track's Late Model Champion. This achievement made Kvapil the youngest to ever win the tournament at the age of 20.

Kvapil has joined the ARTGO family, a Midwest asphalt short-track motor-racing touring series. He came in in the top-ten in points from 1998-2000.

NASCAR career

In 2001, Kvapil made his debut in the Craftsman Truck Series, competing for Addington Racing in the No. 2's. Chevrolet is sponsored by 60 CAT Rental Stores. Kvapil won his first Truck Series race in the Silverado 350 at Texas Motor Speedway, his 21st appearance in the sport. Kvapil's eighteen Top 10's earned him third place in the driver standings and the Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year. In the Busch Series, Kvapil was also scheduled to run with powerhouse Richard Childress Racing in Kentucky, but he failed to turn his vehicle over in a late accident.

Kvapil won the O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park in 2002, matching his victory total. He finished the season with 14 Top 10's and ninth in the final driver points standings.

Kvapil's No. has been upgraded to the No. 1 due to funding difficulties at Addington. In 2003, Steve Coulter's Xpress Motorsports crew earned 16 IWX MotorFreight MotorFreight Honda for Steve Coulter's Xpress Motorsports team. In the O'Reilly 200 presented by Valvoline Maxlife, he won one race during the season at Bristol Motor Speedway. In 25 races, Kvapil finished the season with 22 Top 10's (88 percent). At the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kvapil defeated Brendan Gaughan and Ted Musgrave in points. Gaughan crashed and Musgrave was black flagged during the run, allowing Kvapil the opportunity to win the 2003 Craftsman Truck Series champion. He had a 99.9% lap completion rate, but only missing one lap all season.

Kvapil formed a joint with Alexander Meshkin to propel the No. 1 vehicle into the 2004 season right away. eBay Bang! 24 Line-X Spray-on Bedliners / eBay Bang! Toyota sponsored Racing. During the Line-X Spray-on Truck Bedliners 200 at Michigan International Speedway, Kvapil scored his first victory of the season. Toyota won their first race in the top-tiers of NASCAR. At New Hampshire International Speedway, two months later, Kvapil took home the grand prize. At the American Racing Wheels 200 at California Speedway, Kvapil received his first Bud Pole Award in the Craftsman Truck Series during the same season. In the final driver standings of the season, he finished eighth.

During the 2004 NASCAR seasons, Kvapil signed up for a driver improvement program with Roger Penske in the hopes of advancing to the Cup Series. Many believed Penske was planning to bring Kvapil to the Cup Series for 2005; Penske and Kvapil did not comment on the truth or falsity of the reports. Kvapil made his first NEXTEL Cup Series appearance at Martinsville Speedway during the 2004 season. The No. is driven by Kvapil. The fourth vehicle on the track from Penske Racing is a 06 Mobil 1-sponsored Dodge, the fourth car on the Mobil 1-sponsored track. When Kodak pulled out of the sponsorship contract, the 77 team was temporarily suspended.

After his release from Penske, Kvapil joined PPI Motorsports for the 2006 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. He plowed the No. 1 in the No. 2 race. Chevrolet is a division of Tide-sponsored Chevrolet for the 2006 season. At Kansas Speedway, Pocono Raceway, and Talladega Superspeedway, where he came in 19th in all three events. Kvapil finished in 36th in points and was forced to find a new ride for the upcoming season as his PPI deal only lasted one year. PPI eventually ceased operations after the 2006 recession, when the company was unable to find a sponsor to replace Tide. The team did not have a sponsor pledge for the 2007 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, which was also not included in the sponsorship agreement.

In 2007, Jack Roush, the owner of Roush Racing, gave Kvapil a seat in the No. 108. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series features 6 Ford F-150s. Mark Martin was recalled in the vehicle, who later moved to Ginn Racing, and David Ragan, who was hired to replace Martin in the No. 71, was replaced. In the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, there are 6 Fords. “We are thrilled beyond measure that we were able to find a driver of Travis Kvapil's caliber,” Jack Roush, who was excited about his decision to join Kvapil. Roush recognized Kvapil's abilities and helped with Yates Racing in 2008. The No. Kvapil was the subject of the famous No. 151. The Ford Fusion, 28 years old. At Atlanta Motor Speedway, there is 28 teams competing in the Kobalt Tools 500, the highest level in the series in which he placed 29th. Kvapil placed sixth in the Aaron's 499 at Talladega thanks to a one-race sponsorship deal with Northern Tool and Equipment. This was his best finish in the Sprint Cup Series ever. In the Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington, Kvapil took home another Top-ten finish. Despite the year's lack of funds, Kvapil secured another four top-ten finishes, placing 23rd in the points standings. He also won the pole at the fall Talladega race, which ended up being the last pole award for Yates Racing.

Kvapil debuted at No. 10 in 2009 and has since been in the No. 1 position. The team was forced to close after six races due to a lack of funding, as the team was pushed to stop after six races. After the season, Yates Racing came to a halt. Throughout the year, Kvapil was preparing for many drivers, but not have a full ride.

In 2010, Kvapil rode in the Long John Silver's-sponsored Ford for Front Row Motorsports for a full time. This car has seen fluctuation in numbers over the years, whether you used No. or No. No. 34, No. 176. Or No. 37, or No. 38, depending on each number's ranking in points (with the aim being to have all three cars in the Top 35 for 2011). In 2011, Kvapil returned to FRM full time in the No. 1 race. A 38-car, but Randy Moss Motorsports has signed up to compete in the Camping World Truck Series championship with No. 38, but they have opted to compete in the No. 58 category. 5 Toyota. After the 2011 season, Kvapil was signed by BK Racing to compete in the Sprint Cup Series for 2012. He steered the No. 66. 93 Toyota started with the year's second race at Phoenix, with Todd Anderson as the crew chief; David Reutimann drove the No. 2 in Darlington. The No. 93, Kvapil, was the No. 1 on the road. Even though he rode the No. 73 for BK Racing, he drove the No. 73. For the remainder of the season, the 93rd. In the season-opening Camping World Truck Series competition, he drove for RAB Racing, replacing a suspended John Wes Townley. Kvapil's second best finish in the points since his debut in the 2012 Cup season came in 27th, his second best finish in the points since his debut.

However, both Kvapil and BK Racing suffered in 2013; however, both Kvapil and BK Racing were unsuccessful. Kvapil dropped to 31st in points after five top-20 finishes but nine DNFs (including five blown engines). Just over a month before the 2014 season, the team announced Kvapil.

During Speedweek 2014, Kvapil revealed that he had registered to drive in the Sprint Cup Series for Go FAS Racing on a limited basis, as well as MAKE Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series. On August 12, it was confirmed that Kvapil would replace Townley in the No. 1st. 05 Athenian Motorsports Toyota for the Truck Race in Michigan. Kvapil also competed in several late-season events for Circle Sport, tying for his best finish in his career at Talladega. He returned to BK Racing to run the No. 2 this fall, as well as the No. 62. The No. remained unchanged, with Kvapil continuing to drive the No. In 2017, MAKE's 50 truck was sold as Beaver Motorsports, now MAKE. He has also worked for MB Motorsports and Bolen Motorsports. Kvapil appeared in only the first two races in 2018, including Daytona, where he placed last. He got off to a slow start in 2019 while living in Martinsville. Since 2019, Kvapil has not competed in NASCAR.
