The actress has been tapped to play Kiana Cook, according TV Li ne , a patrol officer that 'loves the adrenaline' of the job and its stakes that come with it, 'who doesn't blink in the face of chaos,' although her character had previously been named Yara Page. Turner is no stranger to the One Chicago universe, considering that she previously had guest starring roles on Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, but each time playing different characters. In another connection to the Windy City, the Jamaican-American actress spent most of her formidable years growing up in Chicago. Turner's entrance to the police procedural action series, which is a Chicago Fire spin-off, comes on the heels of Tracy Spiridakos's exit from the NBC show after eight seasons as Detective Hailey Upton Halstead, seven of which were spent as part of the main cast.

Tracy Spiridakos opened up about her decision to leave Chicago P.D. after seven seasons. She made the decision last year after season 10 wrapped and told producers she wanted her character's storyline to play out. 'I decided at the end of my sixth season, which is when I had reached out to Gwen and to everyone at Wolf to let them know that I just wanted to do one more year. I wanted us to send out the character with one last season,' Spiridakos told Variety, adding: 'It was a hard decision - very, very hard. I love everybody on the show - cast, crew, producers, writers, everybody. It's such an incredible team.' Tracy explained that she was curious about 'what was out there for me and wanted to switch it up, and that was it.'
