He is most well-known as a member of Liberty X. Liberty X enjoyed a worldwide success before dissolving in 2006.
Lundon produced and promoted an Irish music and sport live event series in London following Liberty X's demise, as well as a quiz show called TOAST on The Den on RTÉ Two on Saturday mornings and also promoted an Irish music and sport live event series dubbed The Big Shindigs.
In 2010, he went to New York City to study film and then returned to the United Kingdom in 2012 to found The Cell Productions, a film, television, and music production company.
Lundon produced and directed a short film for The Scout Association, which has since been broadcast on Discovery Channel channels in the United Kingdom, and has been on display across the Discovery Channel channels in the United Kingdom. Liberty X was founded in 2012 for the ITV2 series The Big Reunion, followed by a one-off appearance at the Hammersmith Apollo alongside other pop artists such as Five, Atomic Kitten, and B*Witched.
Liberty X and the other performers from the show have embarked on an arena tour around the UK and Ireland, followed by a "Christmas party" tour in December 2013.
Personal life
In December 2010, Tony married Kelly Ann Leatham, his long-term girlfriend, at Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo. They have three children, Leo, born in April 2012, and Rioghan and Max, who were born in February 2013. During rehearsals for The Big Reunion concert at the Hammersmith Apollo, Kelly Ann went into labour with Rioghan and Max. Due to this, Tony missed some rehearsal time, but the concert was rescheduled. He is William Lundon's great grand nephew and Thomas Lundon's grand nephew.
Singing career
Lundon was born in Galway, Ireland. In 2001, he applied for the ITV reality television talent competition Popstars, which is intended to produce a new group of individual contestants. Danny Foster, Michelle Heaton, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Kevin Simm, Noel Sullivan, Jessica Taylor, and Kelli Young made it to the final ten, along with Danny Foster, Michelle Heaton, Michelle Heaton, Sophie Taylor, Jessica Taylor, and Kelli Young. Foster, Klass, Marsh, Shaw, and Sullivan were selected to be part of Hear'Say, and the media called "Flopstars" for Foster, Klass, Marsh, Simm and Young.
Although the five finalists of Popstars Hear'Say joined Hear'Say, the five runner-up contestants formed Liberty. Liberty was chosen to represent the freedom that members felt after being involved in Popstars. The act proceeded to sign a multimillion-pound deal with Richard Branson's independent record company, V2 records, amid pejorative media commentary (including the term "Flopstars." Liberty was briefly in the UK High Court by a funk R&B band, also named "Liberty," who received a Capital Radio Band of the Year award in the 1990s, playing at Wembley Arena, touring around Europe, and the releasing of albums in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Europe. The original Liberty said the newly formed Liberty was profiting from the goodwill that had been engendered by the former's triumph (also known in English law as the "right of passing off"). The final decision was in favour of the funk R&B band and the ex-Popstars, who then asked readers of The Sun newspaper to suggest a new name. The winning name was "X Liberty," but the group used the entry as the basis for its official name, "Liberty X."
Liberty X has had seven Top ten singles from 2001 to 2005. In May 2002, the country's biggest hit, "Just a Little," debuted at number one. "Thinking It Over," "Got to Have Your Love," "Song 4 Lovers," and "Holding on for You" made the top five in the UK Singles Chart. Thinking It Over, their debut album, debuted at number three in the United Kingdom Albums Chart in June 2002. Liberty X released two more albums, Being Somebody and X, which reached number 12 and number 27, respectively. Liberty X received two British awards, including Best British Single and Best British Breakthrough Artist. After achieving over 3 million records globally, they folded up in 2006.
On Saturday mornings, Lundon presented TOAST on The Den on RTÉ Two, and also created and promoted an Irish music and sport live event series dubbed The Big Shindigs in London, following Liberty X's split. In 2010, he went to New York City to study film and then returned to the United Kingdom in 2012 to found The Cell Productions, a film, television, and music production firm. Lundon created and directed a short film for The Scout Association, which has since been broadcast on Discovery Network channels in the United Kingdom.
Liberty X, along with five other pop bands of their time, will reunite for The Big Reunion, in which they would reveal about their personal lives in the band before performing their greatest hits at the Hammersmith Apollo. The programme, which aired from 31 January to March 2013, saw the actors rehearsing for two weeks ahead of their first major comeback appearance at the London Hammersmith Apollo on February 26th.
On January 29, the group revealed on their official Twitter account that they would be interviewing on Lorraine for the first time in over five years as a band.
Tickets for the Hammersmith Apollo reunion show went on sale shortly after the premiere of the first episode of The Big Reunion, and in less than five minutes. Due to this, it was confirmed that a complete UK tour was underway, which Heaton later confirmed on her Twitter account. Due to high demand for tickets and the show's success, an arena tour tour around the UK will take place from 3 to 12 May 2013. The bands would perform a mini Christmas tour in December 2013. It was revealed on March 27, 2013.
Following the performances, Heaton announced that Liberty X would disband after the show on Sunday, adding: "We talked about it and we knew we've got so many kids between us and very few things we did not want to be successful once more." We just wanted to have fun. I know several of the other bands are planning to release new stuff, but Liberty X is not planning to do so. We're just enjoying it for what it is. We're going to enjoy the shows, all the performers, have fun, and not take it seriously – and we'll all remember being mothers and fathers to our children at the end. "It's how it's different." On December 15, 2013, Liberty X performed their final show together.
