Thomas "Tommy" Bastow (born 26 August 1991) is an English actor and singer from Epsom, Surrey.

He is best known for his role in Joe in the British Telecom (BT) advertisements and as the lead singer in the band FranKo.

Education

Bastow attended the independent City of London Freemen's School before moving to BRIT School in Croydon, a state school that specializes in the performing arts. Bastow earned a BA Acting degree from the Drama Centre London in 2015/2016 (Class of 2015/2016).

Acting career

Bastow wanted to become an actor after seeing films like A Clockwork Orange, Pulp Fiction, and American Psycho with his dad and being inspired by the actors' performances, "watching those amazing performances brought tingles down my spine and inspired me to be an actor myself." I wanted others to watch me and get the same feeling, which I wanted to entertain." Bastow first became interested in acting at the age of thirteen. Bastow has appeared in numerous BT advertisements since 2005. Lewis Chuckworth appeared in two episodes of CBBC's M.I.High in 2008, as Lewis Chuckworth, and in a short film called Londongrad. Bastow landed his first major film role in Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, which was released in July 2008. In December 2008, he appeared as a young Sir Guy of Gisborne in an episode of the BBC One mini-series Robin Hood, which aired on June 6, 2009. In 2009, he appeared in The Boys Are Back starring Clive Owen. Bastow appeared in the 2010 Spanish-American horror film Exorcismus, which is produced by Filmax. He has also appeared in a recurring role in The Cut, a BBC Switch show, as Greg Cranborne. Seb Parker, the actor who appeared in EastEnders in 2011, appeared as Seb Parker.

Music career

Bastow joined Blackspray as the lead singer of a band in 2005. Bastow and members of another band, Hawkwood (two of whom are also BRIT students), formed FranKo in October 2007. FranKo's debut in the United Kingdom in 2008 and released their debut EP with producer Jim Lowe (Stepophonics, Foo Fighters, Manic Street Preachers). The band toured Thailand later this year, which included an appearance on MTV Thailand. They also toured with Elliot Minor and Me vs Hero. FranKo's debut album 'Vote FranKo' was released on March 31, 2010. "Night Time" was the album's first single, and it was released in September 2009. FranKo's second album, 'FranKo,' was released in July 2011. They did a tour with ROOM 94 (July 2011) and a tour with Dave Giles (October 2011).
