Todd Sucherman (born May 2, 1969) is an American drummer who is best known for being a member of Styx since 1995.
Early life
Sucherman grew up in a musical family and followed in his father's footsteps by playing the drums. Arnold J. Sucherman, a doctor and a drummer by night, was playing in the house band at the famed Chez Paree in Chicago. Jo (Seiwert) Sucherman, his mother, was an actress in the 1950s and 1960s.
When he was two years old, the sucherman started playing drums. He had his first paying gig with his brothers under the name "The Sucherman Brothers" when he was six years old. Paul on keyboards, Joel on bass, and Todd on drums were among the band's members.
Sucherman attended Niles West High School and later the Berklee College of Music from September 1987 to May 1988.

Career
Sucherman returned to Chicago in 1988 and quickly established himself as a well-known session performer. Sucherman, an in-demand live and session musician, appeared on Styx in March 1995 when they decided to re-record "Lady" for their 1995 Greatest Hits album, but he was uncredited. Styx asked Sucherman to join them for the tour in February 1996, when it came time for the Return to Paradise tour and drummer John Panozzo was unable to appear. Sucherman became a full member of the 1997 live album Return to Paradise after John Panozzo's death on July 16, 1996.
He helped Tommy Shaw of Styx make his solo album 7 Deadly Zens in 1998.
He has performed with such artists as Brian Wilson, Peter Cetera, Brian Culbertson, The Falling Wallendas, Steve Cole, and Spinal Tape, among others. Sucherman also plays with Lawrence Gowan's band.
Sucherman performed in the prestigious Modern Drummer Festival in September 2008. He appeared on the front page of Modern Drummer magazine in October 2008, and the 2009 Modern Drummer Magazine named him the World's top Drummer. Modern Drummer readers selected him as the best Live drummer in 2020. Sucherman was nominated for Best Rock drummer by Music Radar in 2021. He performed "13 for NP" on the twentieth annual edition of the Modern Drummer festival on September 12, 2020, referring to Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who died earlier this year.
Sucherman's 1st solo album Last Flight Home was released on May 2, 2020. Elbow's album "Kindling" is included on the album.
