Todd Barry (born March 26, 1964) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and voice actor.
He is known for deadpan comedy.
Life and career
Barry was born in The Bronx, New York, and grew up in Florida. In 1986, he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in English. He performed in The Chant, an indie rock band from 1984 to 1985, before beginning to do stand-up comedy. His Comedian Central Presents aired in 1999. Borrowing Saffron (2002), he wrote, produced, and starred H. Jon Benjamin. He has appeared on shows such as Dr. Katz, Aesthessian, Home Movies, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Wonder Showzen, Tom Goes to the Mayor, and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. On Squidbillies, he also plays a recurring character. He appeared in the animated film Shorties Watchin' Shorties in 2004.
In the first two, he appeared himself; then as Todd, a video store clerk, in most of its final season episodes. He appeared in the television pilot Saddle Rash alongside Sarah Silverman, H. Jon Benjamin, and Mitch Hedberg. Barry played Todd, a bongo-playing megalomaniac who wants to introduce the song "Doggy Bounce" to the Conchords' repertoire, as well as a new band name: The Crazy Doggz.
In 2010, Barry appeared in the second season of the live-action Adult Swim series Delocated, where he appeared as a frequent associate of the Russian mafia characters, casually playing card games with them in their club. In FX's Louie, he appeared as himself.
