The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet revealed what we've been hearing for months: naked dresses are far and away this year's biggest style trend this year. On Tuesday evening, the 2023 MTV VMAs opened at the Prudential Centre in Newark, NJ, with hundreds of the industry's most well-known celebrities stepping out in sheer looks. This year, naked dresses have ruled fashion, both on the runway and the red carpet. Although the see-through silhouettes aren't particularly new — particularly at the VMAs — they've quickly become more mainstream among Hollywood's top celebrities, especially Miley Cyrus's metallic look from 2015 or Megan Fox's iconic dress from the 2021 premiere.

Tinashe has arrived at the American Music Awards in style. On the red carpet in two of logomania Marc Jacobs sunglasses, the singer commanded all attention, but it was her Bantu knots that stole the show. Tinashe chose mini bantu knots instead of traditional squares by using triangular pieces to distinguish each twist. Although no additional hairpieces were added, the hairstyle gave her a swanky look to her two-piece ensemble, a finish that was only heightened by the sky-high platforms she was also wearing.
