Tina Wood Career

Early life and career

Wood was born in Blackpool, England, and was one of five children to Anthony and Catherine Wood. Her father was British and her mother was Canadian. When she was a child, her family moved to Montreal. After a few years in Canada, her parents and siblings migrated to the United States, settling in Miami. Wood and his family later moved to Orlando, where they began attending classes. She attended six different colleges and graduated from Edgewater High School, where she served as Vice President and Athlete of the Year.

Wood played softball for the Seminoles and broadcasted broadcasting. She had aspired to become a sports broadcaster and spent time with ABC Sports throughout her college career.

However, the day after she graduated, she moved across the country to Los Angeles to work as an intern on Spike Jonze's first feature film, Harold and the Purple Crayon. The film was eventually cancelled, and her first paying job was as a casting assistant on Mark Medoff's Santa Fe film. Here, she converted her inspirations into writing.

When Santa Fe wrapped, she became an assistant to actor Jere Burns during his time on Something So Right. Wood was absorbed in television culture. She spent all day on the Universal Studios backlot, where the program was shot alongside Just Shoot Me.

She began writing television scripts and hired a literary agent. She spent time at Fox Studios doing script coverage for Harold Ramis' production company Ocean Pictures. She also worked for Jim Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment.

Wood was hired as a staff writer in 2000 to help with the launch of G4, the first-ever television network for gamers. She was the network's head writer, contributing her art to many shows, including icons, Sweat, Cheat, and several specials. G4tv.com's host and producer also appeared on G4tv.com as a host and producer. Laura Foy, Geoff Keighley, and later Scot Rubin appeared in this role. Wood's gamertag on the show was T-Dub.

Wood revealed on her personal blog on December 12, 2005 that G4tv.com had been cancelled by G4 and that the series's last episode would be shot on December 17, 2005. Wood and Laura Foy joined Microsoft to host Channel 10, which showcases the most recent innovations in gaming and technology as well as the people who use it. Wood appeared in G4's Attack of the Show occasionally serving as a guest correspondent.

Wood began on-air as an on-air talent and transitioned to a full-time Executive Producer of New Programming in 2011. She was the Show Production Executive Producer on Microsoft's nightly "Xbox Live" 2013 broadcast coverage, reunited her with G4 celebrities Kevin Pereira and former X-Play host Morgan Webb.
