Timothy Robert DeKay (born June 12, 1963) is an American actor.
He appeared in the USA Network series White Collar (2009–2014), which chronicled a con artist's (played by Matt Bomer) and an FBI agent (DeKay).
Early life
Tim DeKay was born in Lansing, New York, where he and his brother Jamey grew up. As a youth, DeKay enjoyed athletics, having competed in both varsity basketball and baseball, the latter of which is a family heirloom. In addition, he loved the arts and appeared in Oliver's production in high school. He went to Le Moyne College to study business and philosophy, where he also played baseball, before deciding to pursue a career in theater. (DeKayay returned to Le Moyne College in May 2010 as the commencement speaker, and for the first time in history, he was given the title Doctor of Human Letters honoris causa.)
DeKay planned for a career in science or law, and he obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1985. Nevertheless, he discovered that he wanted to work in theater rather than acting. He attended Rutgers University, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree and met his wife, actress Elisa Taylor, after attending just a few courses in directing at Syracuse University.

Career
DeKay has appeared in shows both on Broadway and off, including Ridiculous Fraud at the Edinburgh Theatre Company; Billy Budd at the Circle in the Square Theatre; and The Merchant of Venice on the Hartford Stage; and The Lion's National Tour in Winter. He was both director and producer of the short film This Monday in 2009. It was shown in multiple short film festivals, including Cannes Short Film Corner and the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival (ShortFest).
