Jerome Patrick Flynn (born 16 March 1963) is an English actor and singer.
He is best known for his roles as Paddy Garvey of the King's Fusiliers in the ITV series Soldier Soldier, Fireman Kenny 'Rambo' Baines, and Bennet Drake in Ripper Street. In the later 1990s, Robson Green and his Soldier Soldier co-star Robson Green appeared as Robson & Jerome.
They launched "Unchained Melody," the UK Chart's most popular single of 1995, which stayed at number one for seven weeks.
"I Believe" and "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" were two of the duo's top-one hits.

Early life
Flynn was born on March 16th, 1960 in Bromley, Kent (now part of Greater London), the son of actor and singer Eric Flynn, who was born on Hainan Island, China, and drama instructor Fern Flynn. He has a brother, actor Daniel Flynn, a sister, a half-sister, and actor Johnny Flynn, all from his father's second marriage.
Personal life
Flynn, a vegetarian, has been a member of the Vegetarian Society and Compassion in World Farming since the age of 18. He has joined PETA in promoting the vegetarian lifestyle. Flynn joined the board of directors of VeganNation, an Israeli-based vegan lifestyle project that aims to establish a "international vegan economy based on a virtual currency, the VeganCoin" in December 2018. Flynn and his family spent holidays in Pembrokeshire, Wales, as a follower of Ratu Bagus, a mode of meditation, before moving to a Georgian house in the late 1990s, where he later lived in 2014.
Flynn was involved with Game of Thrones co-star Lena Headey; rumors about the marriage ending on bad terms some time before March 2014, resulting in the couple being kept apart on set. Flynn denied the allegations, saying that he and Headey had been working in a scene together, so I't believe everything you read, and as I said, [the media] can get really desperate for news." Headey is described as "a wonderful individual and a wonderful actor," he continued.
Career
Flynn appeared in the LWT television film " Burning" in 1986 as firefighter Kenny "Rambo" Baines. He was unable to reprise his role in 1988 when the film was based on a series of the same name, but not in 1988. In 1986, he appeared as "Franny" in "The Unknown Mutineer" as the soldier "Franny." Between the Lines, 1992-2004, he appeared as D.S. Eddie Hargreaves for six episodes of the British Academy Television Award (BAFTA) winning police drama Between the Lines.
In the ITV series Soldier Soldier, Flynn portrayed Corporal Paddy Garvey of the King's Fusiliers. In 1991, the show began. In the series, he appeared alongside Robson Green. ITV was overwhelmed by people watching the film, and ITV was persuaded by record producer Simon Cowell to film it and release it as a single on White Cliffs of Dover. In 1995, the single was released under the banner Robson & Jerome and debuted at number one in the UK chart. It stayed at No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks, selling more than 1.9 million copies and making it the year's best-selling single, as well as winning the duo and best album awards in 1996. The pair had two more top-one hits in 1995 and 1996 with "I Believe" and "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted," respectively re-makes of standards, and they also had two number one albums.
Soldier Soldier in 1997 came to an end. In the comedy-drama Ain't Misbehavin', Flynn continued to act as Eddie Wallis (alongside singer Robson Green).
Flynn appeared in the short-lived police show Badger and portrayed real-life soccer player Bobby Charlton's film Best, a tribute to the comedian created by John Fisher and directed by Simon Callow in 1999.
Flynn, who had semi-retired from acting and relocated to Pembrokeshire, produced and starred in Rude Tales, a low budget film. Jerome Rude, the lead role played by Flynn, was split into a sequence of short stories centring around the lead character. The film was shown at a select number of independent cinemas in Pembrokeshire.
