Hara became engaged to Fely Irvine, a Hi-5 actress, in 2015, and the couple married in Bali in 2017. In late 2020, they had their first child, a daughter.

Early life and career

Hara was born in Sydney. He attended The Southport School on the Gold Coast, Queensland. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) in 2010 before attending Queensland University of Technology, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting). Hara appeared on the television show Cash Call, which he hosted for two seasons following his graduation.

Hara made his film debut in 2011 in Terra Nova, a short-lived American science fiction drama. Hara is best known for his appearances on the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away as Andy Barrett from 2013 (the series's twentieth season) to 2016. Hara has appeared in Australian Crime Drama Hyde and Seek and the well-known US series Madam Secretary and Preacher since.

Hara appeared in the 14th series of Dancing with the Stars in 2014.

Colour Blind, a mockumentary of casting agents, was produced by his web-series in 2020.
