Life and career

Bartlett was born in Sydney, Australia. His family moved to Perth, where he was raised, at the age of four.

Bartlett pursued acting work in Australia for many years, including a stint in the series headLand. In 1993, he appeared as con man Luke Foster in Neighbours. Bartlett immigrated to the United States in 2000. He made his first big break there a few years ago when he was cast as a guest star in the HBO series Sex and the City. In four episodes of John Crichton's best friend, he also appeared in four episodes of SciFi Channel's Farscape. Bartlett appeared in Hugh Jackman's Australia tour company production of Jackman's Broadway hit The Boy From Oz in 2006.

Bartlett appeared on the CBS daytime soap opera Guiding Light, from March 2007 to its cancellation in September 2009. Bartlett appeared as Cyrus Foley from March 2007 to September 2009. Dominic "Dom" Basaluzzo appeared in HBO's comedy film Looking for a Dream from 2014 to 2015, before returning to action in the series finale television film Looking: The Movie in 2016. He appeared in the musical drama series Nashville in 2017. In the Netflix revival of Tales of the City, Bartlett assumed the central role of Michael 'Mouse' Tolliver.

Bartlett appeared in The White Lotus in 2021 as Armond, the high-end resort manager and a recovering heroin addict who has been "clean" for five years. Bartlett came to the role after a self tape audition. Bartlett received accolades at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and Independent Spirit Awards, as well as the Primetime Emmy Awards, for his performance.
