Career
At age 14, Elite Model Management scouted Hoeks. She was a cover for Elle Girl, and she travelled Europe as a model for many years while attending high school.
Hoeks appeared in the Dutch TV film Staatsgevaarlijk, just shy of graduating from the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts. Hoeks appeared as a mistress in the series Gooische Vrouwen in 2005 and was a key actor in the psychological thriller series Vuurzee.
In the Jos Stelling film Duska (2007), Hoeks' breakthrough came. She received a Golden Calf (the Dutch equivalent of an Academy Award) for Best Supporting Actress for the role.
