Vy Le Tran (born April 8, 1983), better known as Levy Tran, is an American actress and model best known for her appearance as Roenick in the 2018 film The First Purge, Desi Ngyen in MacGyver, the guest host of MTV's Guy Code, and as a tattooed model.

Early life

Levy was born in San Jose, California, to Vietnamese parents on November 16, 1983. She can speak both English and Vietnamese. She earned a bachelor's degree in child and adolescent growth after she graduated from high school, while minoring in mathematics. In the years after, she worked at a funeral home as an embalmer.

Personal life

Tran is devoted to her fitness. "I want to start a movement of young age housewives in which you have women with dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos that are very traditional in a household setting." Tran said.

Tran began modeling in 2011, but after doing commercials, he moved to Los Angeles in 2012. Tran became a top Asian female model after being successful in modeling. Tran has worked for top companies such as Inked Magazine, Glass Magazine, and Tattoo Life. She claimed that her favorite tattoo on her body is a zombie tattoo due to its artistry, but she regrets her first tattoo she got when she was 18 years old. Levy made her debut on MTV's Guy Code in 2012 as a guest host. Tran appeared in "Asian Girlz," a controversial music video made by Day Above Ground in 2013. Tran quickly apologised for the music video, saying, "I sincerely apologize to all who believes that I put Asian women back 50 years ago." [sic] I'm sure I lost a lot of followers from a lot of ppl. It wasn't my intention. [...] It was supposed to be both lighthearted and amusing. Satirical. They are sweet boys and not at all racist. That's all I'll say. “I'm sorry one more time.”

In 2015, Levy played the role of the race starter in Furious 7. She was later named one of the most beautiful women of the Fast & Furious franchise. She went on to appear on the television show Jungle Justice in 2015 and then appeared in the films Female Fight Squad and The Unwilling. Tran went on to appear in many other television series, including playing Eddie in season 8 of Shameless. Levy continued to perform Roenick in the 2018 film The First Purge, and she appeared in Trish Park, another Netflix series.

In the final eight episodes of MacGyver's season three, Levy was cast to play operative Desidesi "Desi" Nguyen. Tran said she loves her role as Desiree and was excited for season four. Tran was officially named as a main cast member of MacGyver's season four in June 2019.

While discussing his film's major names on action sequences, stunt coordinator Alan Ng told PopCulture.com that the assault occurred after the actor/musical artist, 48, and stuntman collided.
