She also writes under the pseudonyms S.J. Day and Livia Dare.

Career

Day writes about genre fiction and literary criticism. She has also published under the name S. J. pseudonym. Livia Dare is the day.

She is the co-founder of Passionate Ink, a special interest chapter of Romance Writers of America (RWA), and served on RWA's Board of Directors from 2009 to 2013. She was the 22nd President of RWA. Day is currently on the Authors Guild Board of Directors.

She gives workshops to writing groups and has appeared at such venues as the RT Booklovers Convention, Romance Writers of America's National Convention, and Comic-Con.

Harlequin Enterprises and Hearst Corporation reported the signing of Day to a seven-figure contract to produce two novellas, a new partnership between the publisher and the communications giant.

Penguin USA decided on an eight-figure contract for two more "Crossfire" books in June 2013, with Penguin UK acquiring rights for an additional seven-figures.

Macmillan's St. Martin's Press announced a two-book, eight-figure deal with Day for a new "Blacklist" series in January 2014. Penguin UK and Commonwealth Rights to the series have been sold to a further seven figures by Penguin UK.

Amazon Publishing announced a contract for a new novella from Day for seven figures in April 2019.

As of January 2014, Day's Crossfire series has 13 million English-language books in print and international rights licensed in over 40 countries.

Bared to You debuted on Amazon's list of the top ten best-selling books of 2012, fifth on iTunes' Top Ten Books of the Year, and #7 on Bookscan's Top ten Print Book Sales of 2012 – Adult Fiction. Bared to You spent forty weeks on The New York Times trade paperback bestseller list and sixty-seven weeks on the USA Today bestseller list.

Lionsgate Television Group bought the Crossfire series for television adaptation but the option was not renewed again on Day, and the rights have reverted to her.

Day founded Beyond Words, a digital lifestyle website that publishes daily articles on travel, fashion, health, and philanthropy.
