Early life and education

Hogg was attached to Glasgow Warriors for 18 months as part of Scottish Rugby's Elite Development Programme and he signed his first professional contract at the end of 2011.
Hogg first came to fame when he was named Player of the Year with Scotland under the age of 17. After being named man-of-the-match against France in 2010, he captained Scotland under 18 against Wales.
In February 2011, Hogg made his Glasgow Warriors debut in the Magners League, while the Scotland under-20 squad was also active that month. In the summer of 2011, he earned five caps in the Under-20 6 Nations and the IRB Junior World Championship.
In season 2010-11, Hogg made two Warriors appearances and kick off the 2011–12 RaboDirect PRO12 campaign as the team's full-back. The referee looked at the replays on one of the big screens in the stadium on Wednesday and upgraded his decision to a red card after being sent off in a Six Nations game against Wales for a late and deadly foul on Dan Biggar. He made his first appearance against the United States on June 8th, 2014, during Scotland's Summer tour, after his red card against Wales and his 5th International appearance. During the Scotland Summer Tour, he slotted a crucial 43-meter header to win against Canada at BMO Stadium on June 14, 2014.
