The Spice Girl, 49, has opened up in recent years about the 'abuse' she suffered while married to her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte. As the patron of charity Women's Aid following fleeing her marriage to Stephen, Mel B has worked tirelessly to help raise awareness. And she is now to be awarded an honorary doctorate by Leeds University for her efforts. Speaking to the Sun, Mel B said that the doctorate is a 'incredible honour' but she wanted to earn something too, so has been studying towards a qualification in trauma care.

Mel B's ex-husband Stephen Belafonte could be probed by British cops over the Spice Girl's claims he harassed her.  Belafonte, an American film producer, allegedly harassed her while he was in the UK last week - police are investigating the incident, the Sun reported.  Mel B's ex-husband was in the UK visiting, and brough their daughter Madison, 12, along so she could visit her mother. 

Mel B enjoyed a date night with her fiancé Rory McPhee on Tuesday evening. The singer, 49, put on a loved-up display with her partner as they cosied up for a romantic snap at the theatre. The Spice Girls star wore her locks in a ponytail for the outing and also appeared to wear a dark turtle neck top.

Mel B confessed that she still has the slab of skin in a jar a year after revealing that she cut out a piece of her flesh to get rid of a tattoo of her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte's name. The Spice Girls singer said on the British talk show Loose Women: "I've saved it in a jar, which is a little odd, I know." It's at the top of my wardrobe. Nobody knows it exists, but I know it's there and it's off my body."

He told the publication: "It was filthy." Melanie came out of the gate with such horrific tall tales – it's probably the worst divorce that's ever played out in the media – it's likely that I beat her, I ran a pornography business, I murdered our dog, and random events attracted some interest.... I couldn't believe what Melanie said. She made these allegations in an attempt to gain a tactical advantage. She needed everything, all the money, and full custody of [their daughter] Madison. [their daughter] Madison: She knows that if she goes out and makes these allegations, they will go somewhere; she did it deliberately. She did it to bash me so I'll have to do it all, but I'm not sure I'm ever going to lose my daughter. I took her away because she was gone. I guess I'd have to work harder to get her back."
