Stephen Adam Amell (born May 8, 1981) is a Canadian actor and producer best known for his appearance on The CW superhero series Arrow, the Arrowverse's progenitor.
He has been involved in major professional wrestling franchises, including appearing in 2015 and 2016, as well as in 2017, joining the stable Bullet Club and later The Elite.
Early life
Stephen Amell was born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 8, 1981, and the son of Sandra Anne (née Bolté) and Thomas J. Amell. He is Robbie Amell's first cousin. He attended St. Andrew's College, a private independent school for boys, and graduated in 2000.
Personal life
In Toronto, Amell married fellow Canadian Carolyn Lawrence on December 8, 2007. In 2010, the couple divorced. Cassandra Jean, an American actress and model, married in the Caribbean on December 25, 2012, and in New Orleans for the second time on May 26, 2013. They have a daughter who was born in October 2013 and a son who was born in May 2022.
Acting career
In 2004, Amell appeared in two episodes of Queer as Folk as the Liberty Ride spinning instructor. Amell appeared in the first season of the television series Dante's Cove; he was replaced by Jon Fleming in the second season. Amell received a Gemini Award in 2007 for his guest-starring role on ReGenesis. He was also nominated for a Gemini Award in the Best Ensemble Cast Category for Rent-a-Goalie earlier this year.
In My Hair and Heartland, he appeared in recurring roles. Amell appeared on The Vampire Diaries as werewolf 'Brady' on December 3, 2010. In the Lifetime film Justice for Natalee Holloway, which premiered in May 2011, Amell starred as the true life criminal Joran van der Sloot.
