Life and career
Faracy was born in Brooklyn, New York, but she grew in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, where she attended high school. She studied acting at Wesleyan University and Yale School of Drama in Illinois. She began her acting career in New York and made her television debut in 1976 in an episode of ABC sitcom Laverne & Shirley.
She appeared in two unsold sitcom pilots before playing Corinne in the 1978 comedy film Heaven Can Wait. Faracy appeared in the comedy film Scavenger Hunt's year-old Angel Childress.
Faracy has had a long career in television. She appeared on CBS sitcom The Last Resort from 1979-80. She appeared alongside Bill Bixby and Mariette Hartley in Goodnight, Beantown, a CBS sitcom. Faracy appeared on a number of miniseries, including The Thorn Birds (1983), Space (1985), and Windmills of the Gods (1988).
She co-starred with Bruce Willis and Kim Basinger in the 1987 romantic comedy film Blind Date, and the following year she appeared in the comedy film The Great Outdoors.
Faracy appeared alongside Martin Mull in the sitcom His & Hers in 1990. She first appeared in the Fox sitcom True Colors about an interracial union later this year.
She appeared in the film Hocus Pocus opposite Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker in 1993.
Faracy continued her career in the intervening years, appearing in supporting roles in both film and television.
