Early life
Aaron was born in Richmond, Virginia. Nina Abady (née Friedman) was a civil rights activist from Alabama born, she was of Syrian Jewish descent and worked full time to assist her three children after Aaron's father, who was of Sephardic Jewish (Lebanese-Jewish) descent, died. Josephine Abady, a theatre director and producer, died of breast cancer on May 25, 2002, at the age of 52.
Aaron studied at American University in Washington, D.C., majoring in the performing arts. She trained at HB Studio in New York City.

She has been married to James Foreman since 1980; they have two children together.
